Cine film transfer

Our cine film transfer process uses a high quality frame by frame scanning system to digitally capture the film image. We offer transfer of 8mm, super 8, 16mm, super 16mm and 9.5mm film with or without sound. Film is made up of individual frames - 24 make up one second, 1440 one minute.The Kodak 8mm cine reels common in the 1960s and 70s are 3 minutes long.

Most customers ask for their films to be transferred to DVD but at the same time we can provide the cinefilm transfers as digital files for editing on your computer at a little extra cost.

Some of the films we have transferred date back to the 1930s and include as well as precious family scenes from all over the world.

We offer two qualities HD and Super HD. Our HD prices are less than most of our competitors SD (Standard Definition) prices. Both qualities are excellent and flicker free.

You may be one of many who had their films transferred to the now obsolete VHS format in the 1980s. Many people come to us with these VHS tapes to transfer to DVD. However If you still have the original films we can transfer these directly to DVD and digital files to give you much better quality and protct yoru investment!

Technical information:

We use 2k scanner capturing an image size of either 1280 x 960 or HD 1600 x 1200. Cine film is made up of individual frames and there are 24 frames to one second.  A small 3 inch 8mm cinefilm reel will be about 3 minutes!
